The Tasman Hobart is a stunning 152-room hotel located adjacent to the State Parliament House of Hobart. It is a Luxury Collection Hotel managed by the Marriott group. The hotel is a conversion of heritage buildings built between 1840s to 1930s, and a modern wing built on the heritage site.
This scenic neighbourhood has long been postcard subjects for Hobart, for its natural beauty, Heritage architecture, arts and crafts. And with the opening of the MONA, this has spotlighted Hobart as one of the most attractive regional cities in Australia.
The JPDC team worked closely with FJMT Architects and have integrated the Heritage with modern design – highlighted by the blend of contemporary yet classical furniture reflecting the era.
The handpicked contemporary Australian art, evoking a personal feel; the interplaying of contemporary art and traditional craft, manifesting this “integration of the past and the future”. The Parliament House Project will be a unique representation of Hobart.
